WHAT IS REALIGN?

  • Realign is a 2 day student conference, sponsored and led by a group of local youth pastors, that offers students an opportunity to enter into a focused time of realigning themselves with God’s love for them.

WHAT HAPPENS AT REALIGN?

  • Students who attend realign will experience:

    • 3 large group worship/teaching sessions

    • 3 small group and/or breakout sessions

    • Games and Activities throughout the event

WHERE DOES THE REALIGN TAKE PLACE?

  • All churches should check in at Tanglewood Baptist Church by 6:00 on Friday night, March 13.

  • All large group worship and breakout sessions will happen at Tanglewood.

  • Activities will be located at several local churches.

REALIGN IS AN OVERNIGHT EVENT, WHERE DO WE SLEEP?

  • Realign is sponsored by several local churches so students who attend Realign will be divided up by age and gender and will be assigned to sleep at one of those local churches.  Each sleeping church provides sleeping space and shower facilities, but you will need to bring air mattresses/sleeping bags/cots to make your stay more comfortable.

HOW MANY CHAPERONES SHOULD I BRING AND WHAT WILL BE EXPECTED OF THEM?

  • You are required to bring at least one female chaperone for every 5 female students and 1 male chaperone for every 5 male students.

  • ALL chaperones are REQUIRED to have passed a background screening by your church prior to attending the conference.

  • Chaperones will be asked to help with crowd control during worship/activities/transitions.  They will be responsible for keeping up with your groups medications and ensuring students are experiencing the best possible conference by following the rules and having fun.  We may contact your group leader prior to the event to let you know if there are other things we will need their help with.

WHAT KIND OF ACTIVITIES SHOULD MY STUDENTS BE PREPARED FOR?

  • All of our activities this year will be done in house.  That means they will be something we can do in a gym, sanctuary or fellowship hall.  We have tried to select activities that all students can participate in and enjoy.  Some of the activities are large group games that could be fairly physical, while others are simple games played by 1 or 2 people at a time.

CAN STUDENTS BE PICKED UP/DROPPED OFF AT ANOTHER TIME OR LOCATION THAN WHAT IS DESCRIBED ABOVE?

  • If you have a student that needs to be picked up or dropped off late, please make those arrangements within your group and include a note beside that students name on your registration spreadsheet which will be emailed to you after you register your group.

IS THERE ANYTHING I CAN DO BEFORE AND AFTER THE EVENT TO ENSURE MY STUDENT GETS THE MOST OUT OF THIS TIME POSSIBLE?

  • ABSOLUTELY!  Let’s start with before Realign:

    • Start by praying for your students.  Ask God to work in their heart and to draw them closer to His side.

    • Choose a day prior to the event to spend some time preparing your students.  Ask them what they are looking forward to the most, what scares them, and how you can pray for them during this time.  Let them know that you are excited about this opportunity for them, and help them understand how they can prepare themselves to grow.

    • When you show up for check-in, take 5 minutes to pray with your students before you get out of the van.

  • After Realign:

    • We will be providing Family Discussion Guides in the days following Realign.  These guides are designed for you to keep the momentum going in your student’s life.  If you are interested in receiving the Family Discussion Guides, send an email to chris@familygatechurch.com.  The discussion guides will be emailed out after Realign.
